I was born in 1994 which will probably reflect my choices, especially for picture books.

At the very end I was like oh I want to know more about Hecabe becoming a dog but the play ended. Just when it got interesting.

Read Hecabe in Electra and Other Plays by Euripides

Like Andromache, it took me forever to drag myself to the finish. It was boring. Next up: Suppliant Women.

I'm hoping SW will be better. The characters are all new to me (except Athena and Creon)

I got this book for 50 cents in a thrift store. It's the prettiest cover I've ever seen. I love it. The book doesn't show in the picture but it is shimmery in the light. I could stare at it all day. So hopefully I will like reading it as much as I like the cover.

I used to read a lot of thrillers so it's a pretty well worn trope twist. I don't read a lot of thrillers now so I was like 😮 at first.

This book is not getting any literary awards. The writing is mediocre. The characters are all terrible. If you want
"for fun book", this fits the bill. I based my review on my experience with the book and the story more than literary aspects. Some books are just fun to read.

The con gets conned. If this book was an AITA post, the response is ESH. It was an engaging and quick story. The twist was good but I don't read a lot of thrillers so if you read a lot of them, the twist is basic.

It's definitely at least half of a me problem. If there's a much larger plot than romance, I'd be willing to read it. But book trends change (like everything else) and I just don't find a lot of them intriguing lately.

Also more rambling at the BOTM: I don't read straight up romance or romantasy. I like thrillers but they need to be new concepts (for me) in some way (location, plot, character voice). So my options are a bit limited. I just feel like at least 7 years ago there were better selections.

I've done it for years and for the last few years, I just skip every month.

Is it just me or is BOTM selections just get shittier and shittier? I want to cancel but I have to use my 3 credits up but you have to pick one of the choices or favs selected otherwise you can't ship everything else. So I'm stuck waiting and skipping. Maybe it's just me.

Kinda want to order the pre-order of The Court of the Dead which will be a Nico Di Angelo adventure. The synopsis sounds pretty good. But The Sun and the Star wasn't terrible, but the co-authoring didn't work for me. It was not cohesive. So I think I'll just wait for the library.

I cried. I'm sad now because I see the POV of an adult who worked in schools. (I'm not the only 31 year old who has loved the series for years, 18 for me, and watches it.)

It's actually really sad. That episode is so sad We don't get that perspective from the book. (Because Riordan had a second shot to add things he didn't write 20 years ago in the tv series. And it's only Percy's POV in the book).They did that incredibly well. #BookSky #pjo #percyjackson

The trailer of Percy Jackson season 2 is out. I watched episode 1 of the 1 season tonight. There's a lot of stuff wrong in S1. I hope they address in 2. But they did really well of how Percy's life so far: the confusion, his fear something is wrong with him, how he's ostracized. #BookSky #pjo

I got to actually go for a walk in at least a month because it wasn't super hot, but more importantly, it wasn't sufficatingly humid. There was an actual breeze instead of the feeling when you the oven door. I've been doing home workout "walking' videos in the AC because it's been too gross.

Now it let's me do it after 10 minutes ago I wasn't allowed. Ok.

The Bombshell is the debut of Darrow Farr. I hope she writes more. I'd love to see more.

I usually don't annotate fiction except underlining parts I like. Halfway through I was annotating and analyzing like crazy (character development and their tactics). That was a lot of fun for me. But that's just me. It's definitely not a book that everyone will like it.
