Last week, Supervising Investigator King joined North Las Vegas Municipal Court Judge Courtney Ketter for the youth panel “Love Shouldn’t Hurt.” Through real-world scenarios, students explored their constitutional rights and how to safely interact with law enforcement.

AG Ford, alongside Maryland AG Anthony Brown, led a coalition of 24 attorneys general and two governors opposing a proposed federal rule that would cap student loans for graduate nursing and health programs. The change could deepen healthcare workforce shortages nationwide.

Today, Attorney General Ford issued the following statement after the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that former President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs were unlawful, affirming lower court rulings and reinforcing constitutional limits on executive authority.

Earlier this week, the Nevada Attorney General’s Office convened its first Hate Crimes Task Force meeting, bringing together community partners and the public to discuss hate crime trends and prevention. This town hall-style conversation marked the start of ongoing statewide collaboration.

Attorney General Ford joined 24 attorneys general in opposing HUD’s unlawful attempt to roll back Fair Housing Act regulations. The proposal would eliminate accountability for housing policies that have discriminatory effects, even when discrimination isn’t explicit.

Today, Attorney General Ford announced that the first meeting of the Nevada Hate Crimes Task Force will be held on Tuesday, February 17, from 3 to 5 p.m. at both the Las Vegas and Reno offices of the Office of the Attorney General. Members of the public are invited to attend.

Attorney General Ford joined 19 AGs to secure an agreement preventing the Trump Administration from withholding federal education funds from states that maintain lawful DEIA programs. The agreement protects equal access to K–12 education and critical funding for Nevada schools.

Social Work students from UNLV are gaining hands-on experience through the Nevada Attorney General’s Office Social Work Student Practicum Program, giving undergraduate and graduate level students real-world opportunities to serve the community while learning the work firsthand.

In a letter to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, the coalition condemned the Trump administration for exploiting events in Minnesota to pressure state leaders into handing over sensitive resident data and weakening long-standing public safety policies.
