04.10.2025 23:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Our event filtering is very aggressive, even preventing targeting into prefabs outside scene, because you can get up to all sorts of shenanigans.
I used to find them constantly years ago before we finally pulled the trigger & blocked it all. Everything from now on is manually allowed after review.
if you have stuff that needs adding to the event whitelist please do make issues on the tracker :3
we asked those affected before and got no further responseβ¦

For a while I was told to not touch any of the friend requests on it. In our dev environment though it seems fine. As time goes on though, it will likely be an issue.
The only system so far iβve seen fail is the voice server. The ChilloutVR account cannot auth with it & is perma mute lmaoo.
I love the ChilloutVR account, because every time i touch it iβm yelled by Luc & Kafe to not do anything crazy with it lmao.
Its guid is βSYSTEMβ which is obviously not valid- so the concern is that the ChilloutVR account can break anything expecting an actual GUID.
lmao
25.09.2025 19:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0ah that sounds about right
When poking we learned that in a reserved instance platform staff are not safe from moderation by instance moderators. The GS only applies immunity in normal instances.
So now we have this really cool screenshot:
Iβm not exactly sure what the original plan was with this feature or how it was meant to be used, but it happens to be perfect for some changes we are making, so it being 90% complete was pretty cool.
25.09.2025 16:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We recently dusted off an old incomplete feature, fixed, and finished it, when touching the GS in our dev environment.
Dynamic Plates allows the server to set and change nameplate rank info and color instead of it being hardcoded in the client.
We immediately started seeing what it could do lol.
This is very much a passionate development project being developed by a volunteer team who really does care.
Anyways, thatβs enough venting. Iβm at work right now so I canβt distract myself by working on the game.
With our restructuring we addressed all these things and are more effective than ever before. No longer are we playing pretend as if we are a big company, needlessly making it harder for volunteers to donate their time into a project they love.

I believe a lot of expectation is built on a belief that we are bigger than we actually are. At first we were run like that- compartmentalization, an office, individual teams, promises out-the-wazoo, but that only lead to strife and conflict for a team of few.
25.09.2025 15:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You may not see me in Public instances all the time, but thatβs because iβm busy working. I also do not rep the dev nameplate or badge because I feel it is too attention-seeking, which is a shared opinion of a few other developers.
25.09.2025 15:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Despite my review Iβve clocked thousands of hours working towards addressing the flaws I believe need fixing. Everyone on this team is a volunteer working towards building the platform they wish to exist.
25.09.2025 15:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My own review is also negative because I believe the tooling available is inadequate for creators & (now mostly addressed) roadblocks continued to hamper progress.
Itβs a review I made when leaving the team a while ago, and still after rejoining stand behind.
Itβs a review driven by feelings so it is not wrong in any way. It just sucks to read having put years into this as a volunteer alongside the rest of our small team.
25.09.2025 15:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I started catching up on steam reviews and of all of them
βthis game is not a passionate dev project, you don't see devs in lobbys anymore, you barely barely see moderators which is a huge problem and as i hear the moderation is really bad and biased.β
is the one that got under my skin the most.
The CCK Preview including this change has been released in the Nightly channel. Thereβs also a preview now in the build panel of your taken panoramic.
I wish to expose more configuration for the taken panos at a later date, like the depth capture mode, or using an image captured in-client.
unity touched grass and broke it
also fuck grass
i fucking hate grass
Terrain: Fixed bug in which grass details always used the default rendering layer mask. (UUM-91894)
Terrain: Terrain Detail objects are not rendered in the build when the Terrain is generated at runtime. (UUM-62407)

We did a cool recently with portals so they can reconstruct depth. Will be part of an upcoming CCKβ¦ that iβve totally not been slacking onβ¦
Hit several major roadblocks & was demotivated for a bit, but I am slowly picking that back up.
Finally got the big 2 blockers out of the way :)

27.07.2025 03:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0only thing that didnβt make it over from the old panel was the build stats, but thatβs because new panel doesnβt build until after hitting upload :)
thereβs the Last Build Info element though to make up for it
evolution
glad my personal build panel could be revived for cck4
lmao thatβs awesome and cursed
17.07.2025 15:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0would not have been able to put it together without my custom lua component wrapper because fuck doing these tables manuallyβ¦
drag-and-drop just populating everything and the tool doing codegen for the table on lua side is so awesome
