Social democractic reforms were the first steps towards socialism. A socialist NYC would still have universal publicly owned childcare.

In terms of socialism, SOE like the grocery store/social housing and de-commodification of childcare and housing are squarely socialist.

Elizabeth Warren is primarily an anti-monopolist who believes in capitalism. Mamdani represents an ascendent politics of socializing the economy that is ideologically much more threatening.

Tying the Jewish state to the badness of capitalism in New York - and he’s very specific there - is not good, guys. It doesn’t make him a nazi but it’s an ugly thing to say and points to some troubling views.

Connecting the imperialism abroad to the fascism at home is a real no no guys.
