I feel this so hard 💕😭

The only scholar who affected me as much as my academic advisors was Linda Williams. She rewired my brain during my PhD and made my entire career possible through her book “Hard Core.” She made the body central to film and media scholarship, a lesson I will not soon forget.

All of Linda Williams' books are incredible. I'm the millionth person to say something about "Film Bodies," but it's just one of those essays that cracks the world wide open the first time you read it. Lots of great scholars don't have one like that — Linda Williams had several. RIP.
