Rep. Jasmine Crockett: "There has been no oppression for the white man in this country ... it is white men on this side of the aisle telling us, people of color on this side of the aisle, that y'all are the ones being oppressed."

Long story short, I made the move during the pandemic and it was one of the only places with open borders. Landed here, fell in love and stayed.

Iโ€™d reached my breaking point with all the racial injustice. I wanted to live in a place that celebrated and affirmed my existence instead of despising it.

Not from there originally. Iโ€™m a Michigan native.

Between now and January 20th, I'm committed to finding answers and practical solutions while we have access to the Biden-Harris Administration.

Your voice matters in this conversation. 7/8 ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

1. For those considering seeking asylum abroad: What specific information or resources would help you navigate this process?

2. For those already abroad or planning to leave: What administrative or legal hurdles are you facing?

3. What emergency preparedness information would be valuable? 6/8 ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

The good news: new streamlined processes are being implemented at the federal level to expedite applications and renewals. Still, I need your input on three critical areas: 5/8๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

I'm actively working to identify pathways and solutions for folks with marginalized identities who may need to seek asylum or relocate.

In our most recent committee meeting, we discussed immediate practical concerns like passport renewal delays. 4/8 ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

Many of you have expressed concerns about potentially needing to leave the US in the face of what could be an increasingly oppressive environment.

I hear you. 3/8 ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

While this work has been meaningful, the transition into a new administration raises questions about the committee's future role and function.

More urgently, it highlights our need to prepare. 2/8 ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

For the past several months, I've been serving on an informal White House Advisory Committee for Americans Overseas.

Our focus has been on addressing challenges faced by Americans living abroad in areas like: voting, banking, healthcare, social security, taxation, citizenship and moreโ€ฆ1/8 ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ

Iโ€™m beginning to the believe that the change I want to see wonโ€™t be here in the USA.
Time to look at a return to the land my ancestors were stolen from. #Blaxit
