She was there for her trans patients. They're being hurt by this administration, she said.

Litigation alone won’t save us, but it is a tool that compliments mutual aid, advocacy, and organizing.

And from beating back illegal efforts to claw back funding to challenges to state and federal overreach on anti-equality policies we are getting wins and building a legal record of harms done.

I know it’s easy to feel down on the state of litigation on LGBTQ+ issues, especially given the Supreme Court’s recent record.

But there are good reasons to be hopeful about challenges at multiple levels (state and federal).

And perhaps more important: Every challenge can buy time.

It matters.

But I *am* interested in what messages are getting through and aren't and how we can leverage points of connection for movement forward.

Yeah, it's all mostly unpleasant, and he spends the whole time steamrolling someone who is trying to provide a little care and nuance.

*BUT*

There are some real, workable points there for those of us trying to move this conversation. And I don't think it's as immovable as we might imagine.

3. He thinks more private restrooms are a good option on bathrooms. Me too!
4. He loves the simplicity of chromosomes=sex; but he doesn't dismiss trans people & gender dysphoria.
5. His opposition to inclusion for trans women is rooted in an argument that is basically "men are creeps." Interesting.

1. Rogan actually personally knows (and likes) at least one trans woman (his friend's wife); he doesn't misgender or deadname her directly here. Interesting.
2. He states very clearly that he believes that trans people should be safe in bathrooms (even if he & I disagree on which one I should use).
