So the takeaway is I did end up paying the fare, I did end up missing a train, and if I had just taken the L up front I would have saved myself a whole entire trip to the airport. Hope the Michelle in that timeline appreciates her integrity!!

Today I jumped the light rail fare because construction scaffolding was blocking the scanner, the train was there, and I didn't want to wait in the heat for the next one.

My flight got canceled. Homeward, I try to scan QR code and it's fussy. I do not jump again, I persist, and I miss the train.
