Obscene. Why are we tolerating this extremity of wealth inequality? Something has to give—or be forced.

My "staff"? A poetry editor, a photography editor, and a fiction editor. All girls. The contributors? All girls, except for 2 photographers. We titled it "The Girls Club". It was the 2nd most successful issue of the magazine in the school's history. Men can get ratfucked.

The next issue-- the only issue I was editor for-- had as much Masculine Shit (war, violence, etc.) and as much Heavy Shit (mental illness, family dysfunction, rage, political stuff) as I could get away with. The advisor was not happy and couldn't understand why I was doing what I was doing.

Prev post but like. I was editor of my high school literary magazine and I overheard a male teacher say to the advisor "why'd you make a girl the editor? Now it'll be nothing but poems about crushing on boys and pink flowers. What a waste."

We women are apparently very powerful.

What messes with me about tech *still* being treated as a luxury is that the tech industry itself went out of its way to make it a requirement for participating in society.

Internet access alone should have been classified as a utility in like 2015, but isn't because it *also* has recreational use.

The Trump administration is a fascist administration, but the United States is not yet a fascist state.

Total state capture takes time. Every obstacle we can present as individuals, groups, communities, and institutions helps slow that process.

Everything we do to resist matters. It ALL matters.

Nothing warms my heart as much as seeing someone doing this. The world is *full* of people doubling down on shit they don’t even believe out of a sense of pride, and seeing someone graciously acknowledge being wrong, in full public view, is quite inspiring.
