My calc 3 prof was also really good. I still talk about his pedagogy and homework philosophy. And then it turned out he was also a ballet dancer and we were in the Nutcracker together later.

Calc 3 was my favorite class in college. Diff eq was the only one I withdrew and took again lol

Tell me five classes you took in college.

Advanced ballet
Kayaking
Intermediate French IV
Biotechnology law
Advanced Organic Chemistry (there were like 4 of them, but spectroscopy was my favorite)

Similar to other folks here, I listen to audiobooks while I commute (2+ hours/day) and try to switch to reading when I find myself doomscrolling. I read 134 books last year (including 8 Brando Sando). I also don't watch TV and deleted almost all social media.

If you have time to doom scroll, you have time to read books!

Ooh I loved Tusks of Extinction and the other books in the series. I'm about to start Katabasis by RF Kuanf but I'm worried it will be too much grad school trauma.

I deleted social media from my phone for the new year and have read 3 books so far this year. I guess it's working lol

Rethinking the Mechanistic Approach to Teaching Organic Chemistry† The mechanistic approach to teaching introductory-level organic chemistry─Organic One and Two (Organic I and II) in the United States─continues to predominate since its introduction through Morrison a...

An elder of mechanistic reasoning expounds on a painful truth: students don't make sense of organic reactions starting from mechanistic reasoning. Knowledge of reactions has to come first. (Same is true for practicing organic chemists, though we don't like to admit it.)

I DNFed a chemistry romance because in the first chapter the FMC chemist accidentally drinks the lab chemicals. Also the main love interest is her boss.
