I bet some of you recognize the same behavior in your parents during your childhood and beyond. Once again, they don’t think it’s right. But it’s familiar. Most people are trained from birth to prefer familiarity or comfortability over moral correctness.

A question for actively anti-racist white people who were raised in evangelical households: What internal tests do you run to make sure you are not falling into white savior mode? How do you separate doing good and what’s right from your training in White evangelism? I’m looking for a discussion.

If *your department head and your dean* can be removed for supporting your colleague in teaching in their area of expertise, then you have no academic freedom. In a functional sense, you don't work at a university at all.

When Campus Reform and Turning point came after professors and created the professor watchlist, administrators didn't pay attention..Now they are being fired and attacked. Maybe institutions should have done more to protect academic freedom....

So ICE is now more powerful than a sitting US senator? I hope every democrat congressperson stands up for their colleague and demands accountability for what happened to Alex Padilla. They won’t but I wish they would.
