Footy at the Olympics? Been done for.
Richmond players Brian Davie (1953-59), Frank Dunin (1953, 1955-59), Ray Allsopp (1955-59), Vic Naismith (1956-58) played in the demonstration game at the 1956 Games. Charlie Callander was trainer.

Dees-Tigers practice match abandoned after lightning delay strikes twice The practice match between Melbourne and Richmond in Ballarat was abandoned before three-quarter time.

Looking through my 'cancelled/forfeited/abandoned' spreadsheet. It seems only other time RFC game was abandoned MID-MATCH was Sept 3 1898 v Port M.
Rough play. 11 Tigers didnt come out after 1/2 time. Alan Schwab's great gf was capt.

2026 AFL Life Membership & Jack Titus Award recipients The AFL has announced the recipients of Life Membership and the Jack Titus Award

Congratulations to Gary Zimmerman on his AFL Life Membership.
He was, amongst many roles, Richmond's club doctor from 1987-1993.

I remember as a kid, being in the rooms when Dad was coach and easily noticing Gary because of his curly hair and moustache.

Man, I tell ya Facebook footy pages are pretty much 90% AI generated images, and its absolute shit.
Particularly club fan sites - absolute rubbish.
I notice some league clubs using AI occassionally to generate images which is poor.

Two Richmond Under 19s passings that flew under the radar last two months.
George Kleehammer (1952) and Ray Lanyon (1953).
It pays to meticulously search through death notices to try to keep our records as accurate as possible.

I reckon this country needs to reconsider copywrite laws for newspapers.
Because not being able to put up digital scans of Herald/Sporting Globe/Sun etc after 1955 on Trove, in this day and age is ridiculous.
