Encourage your Republican friends to move their registration to Independent. (or Democrat). Encourage them to declare out loud (on social media) that they cannot in good conscience associate themselves with the GOP and RNC. Or ask them to write the same to their representatives.

In his farewell address to the American people given in January 1953, President Truman referred to this concept very specifically in asserting that, "The President--whoever he is--has to decide. He can't pass the buck to anybody. No one else can do the deciding for him. That's his job.”

We did it and received praise. Some of the praise is due to the exceptional arrangements, the songs themselves and the programed multimedia experience. But some of the praise is just because we had good sound and singing. We put on a good show. I’m proud of that and I’m proud of us.

(And a separate one for Outreach music, as we couldn’t perform any of the Disney songs outside of this run of four shows.) One of the Disney songs was 49 pages by itself. Another challenge was performing to preset video. The songs had to be executed precisely to match the screen.

…and to commiserate with tongue twisting lyrics.

We (the full chorus) learned and performed 8 or 9 songs more than we normally do in the same timeframe. I usually have one notebook for all my sheet music per show. I had a notebook for each act for this show.

Disney is specific with their requirements—and beyond that, there’s pride OF and WITH with the people I performed with because we all pulled together and dug in to do extra rehearsals, to help each other with our own personal musical challenges, to do more homework…

Disney Pride In Concert was a joy to perform. It was a lot of work and it was a challenging program—but that just adds to the experience. There’s a sense of accomplishment, a sense of uniqueness (as not every chorus will accept the challenge), a sense of commitment…
