All I think about when I hear people say that it’s bad taste to dance on Hulk Hogan’s grave is that Emmett Till’s monument had to be replaced with a 500lb steel bulletproof monument because white people simply won’t stop riddling it with bullets. So now it just has tons of dents. From bullets.

Do you know what's also cool? Hummingbird tongues have bones in them! It's one of the smallest, most flexible bones in existence! A blep with a bone!

(Woodpeckers also have bones in their tongues! I'm sorry to go off about this fact but it never stops being amazing to me.)

So just to clarify: the government, seeking to restrict kids’ access to “harmful content” imposed an ID rule and now there’s been a mahoosive spike in VPN use.

So now they’re thinking of banning VPNs…

Somewhere in the past 16 years I've forgotten what I learned at Clarion:

That it is literally impossible for any group of people (unless self-selected for agreement) to agree on whether a story is good.

It is legitimately not a gotcha: our safety as Americans is intimately related. American Muslims and American Jews are natural allies in the fight against fascism and Dominionist Christianity -- which is why they've done everything they can think of to pit us against each other.

Some will say, "but 'regime change' isn't euphemism for 'conquer' because nobody's advocating for U.S. to absorb Iran." Hmm. Were China to somehow overthrow U.S. government & install a government dependent on & acquiescent to China, we wouldn't call that "regime change." 2/

News organizations shouldn't be using the term "regime change" except to quote an official using the term. It's euphemism for "conquer." The debate isn't about whether the U.S. will "pursue regime change in Iran"; it's whether the U.S. will attempt to conquer Iran. 1/

Why We Sing Come close and listen: This week, author C.C. Finlay returns to the Transport to share a new legend.

New today at The Sunday Morning Transport!

"Why We Sing"

One morning on the island of Wherthy, the priestess Elliemmi rose in the muted gray hour before dawn to throw two of her daughters into the sea.

Swim closer, if you want to hear the story.

We Better Pray That No Unexpected Crisis Hits While Trump Is President It’s a world exploding with crises waiting to happen. Donald Trump has made us less prepared for every one of them.

If you live in the US, you are in greater jeopardy today than you were 6 months ago. So is your family. So are your friends & neighbors. Virtually all the important parts of the U.S. gov't created to protect us are being shut down, gutted, or marginalized. My latest. newrepublic.com/article/1968...
