There were many aspects of Alex’s film, WTO/99, made entirely of archival footage, that broke my brain. Every location was very familiar, I remembered names of politicians and tv journalists buried somewhere in the deepest recesses of my brain. It was also very prescient. I recommend you see it.

I was in Seattle on a trip during this and recall not being able to get to the airport because protesters had dropped an inflatable whale on I-5, which I thought was very funny. Alex tells me the whale makes a brief appearance in the film, so it's a must see for me! More so, it's a great cause!!

This event, which is a benefit for Neighbors Helping Neighbors, looks cool as hell. And personally, as someone who grew up around Seattle during these events) the film hits pretty close to home. Might need to wear some Sonics gear. I’m going to try to make it.
