Regarding the announcement today about Discord age verification, this isn't a concern for me as I've had to do it before with other services. I'm not going to be deleting my account or switching over to something else permanently at the moment.

Well, I just resolved a really bad tech situation that resulted in me having to reinstall Windows from scratch. Thankfully I had backed up my really important things and have regained access to them. However, I unfortunately lost most of my programs. It's like I have a new laptop. Ah well.

Have you backed up your data recently? If not, you might want to do that. I learned that lesson the hard way a few years ago.

I'm aware of the recent news. Having strong emotions in response is understandable, yet publicly wishing harm on anyone is an absolute red line for me. You can be furious and seething. It is still important to remain civil. Restrain yourself from unneeded outbursts. Use your anger constructively.

Earlier tonight, I had a scare of my father experiencing chest pain. This forced an ER visit. I was worried of a potential heart attack, but the tests just came back negative.

My first Blender animation is complete! The planets are in orbit around the Sun over a period of 300 years, using actual math.

So I got the hang of Blender scripting and I got the planets into orbit. Now to render the entire thing... which will take about... ten hours. The entire animation should be about twenty-four minutes long and cover 300 years of orbital time. Hope it doesn't crash my laptop...

I'm actually quite proud I did NOT manage to crash Blender this time! These are my first successful renders in the program. Neptune and Saturn. I'm trying to build a simple model of the solar system as my first ever project, the Sun and its orbiting planets.

Where is the cake? Is it a lie? But I am older now... so there must be cake somewhere.

PSA: Make sure that you know where your fire extinguisher is, and goddammit, don't plug ten things into the same outlet including a microwave (???) unless you know what you're doing, and if you don't, just... don't. If a safety official would faint at your streaming setup, seriously correct it.

So, I resigned from my tutoring job today. And my resignation was actually accepted. I have no idea what I'm going to do now. But that's a future me problem.

The kobolds and cobalt share a name. Why? The metal cobalt was unwanted by miners, as smelting its ores failed to give the valuable silver. I should clarify and correct myself. Not all organisms reproduce in such a way that they have a father and a mother. Archaea and Bacteria primarily reproduce asexually, as do many insects, reptiles, and some sharks. Some insects and molds even use both sexual and asexual reproduction.

Is a hybrid between a lion and a tiger called a liger or a tigon? Well, both are valid. What's the difference, you ask? Well, who's the father?
All organisms have a father and mother. When naming hybrids, the father comes first, so a liger has a lion dad, and a tigon has a tiger dad. Now you know.

My major resolution is to restart learning the Russian language after a forced hiatus due to mental health and then later getting demotivated. After that, perhaps a return to Twitch. But for now, this week will be one of rest. Nothing major planned, just recovery from the celebrations.
