Hey @nytpitchbot.bsky.social:

How Norway’s Nobel Peace Prize Committee could have prevented this, but pushed Trump to embrace war instead.

if the media had any integrity β€” and it doesn’t anymore β€” they’d be pointing out on a loop that Obama made a deal with Iran, Trump cancelled it because Obama is Black, and then Trump started a war on the pretense there is no deal

It mayn't be his most well-known or beloved story, but "A Neighbour's Landmark" contains one of the *very best* bits in all of M R James's work.

There seems to be some sort of psychological warfare going on between Dubs and their seagull neighbours. Was waiting for a Luas over the weekend where a huge gull was pacing up and down the tracks and a woman beside me hissed at her young daughter "Whatever you do, do NOT make eye contact with him."

Also cool: The creator was inspired by @404media.co coverage, a great illustration of why their journalism is so essential. This kind of work is funded by paid subscribers so become one of those if you can.

A New Wharton Study on AI Warns of a Growing Problem: Cognitive Surrender Casual users should pay special attention

This is a mental war that we have to win. It's not about being a luddite, it's about destroying or retaining the ability to think. It's about how insidious this becomes in a situation where generative AI is adopted and then subverted intentionally.
