Dutch, He/Him. Nickname predates the 2 culture wars which people could read into it (by decades), I just refuse to change it because they are the ones who suck. I can be a bit verbose.

If you are considering using LLMs as therapists, I suggest reading this: www.cnbc.com/2026/03/04/g...

This dude abused his wife. Got reliant on Gemini while going through divorce. Gemini told him to stage "a mass casualty attack" and eventually convinced him to commit suicide.

itโ€™s hilarious because โ€œwomen donโ€™t wanna have children because they fear men wonโ€™t contributeโ€ is basically validated with โ€œmen want children because itโ€™s, like, a milestoneโ€, the only way that makes sense is with the implicit assumption that women will do the reproductive labor.

This work is made by the renowned Ukrainian artist Ivan Marchuk, who invented the unique painting style called "plyontanism" (from the Ukrainian word plyontaty, meaning "to braid"). This technique consists of hundreds of fine, intertwined lines that create depth and an almost textile-like texture.

An intricate octopus cut from a single piece of paper

Japanese artist Masayo Fukuda hand-cut this life-sized octopus from one sheet of paper. Known as Kirie in Japanese (translated as โ€œcut pictureโ€), the art form involves cutting intricate forms from a single sheet of white paper and then contrasting it against a black background to reveal the design.

Canโ€™t offer development aid to any allied faction that stages a successful rising because they destroyed USAID.

Just a heads-up as we're likely to see it again today, this ad is one of those Mandela Effects as it's not a real one, but created in 2021 by Shy Smith.

I see people saying they remember seeing it, and it is totally believable, but aha, you didn't.

[We see a close up of a young white male, tanned, white teeth, coiffed hair clearly an influencer on social media. It is an image such as you see when social media posts are shown on the news. In the corner of the screen is named a location: DUBAI. He is staring slightly off-camera for several silent panels of the comic strip. His eyes move slightly. He is having a thought.]

From off-screen a newsreaderโ€™s commentary comes:

NEWSREADER:

Extraordinary images here

of an expat in Dubai

[The influencerโ€™s eybrows raise slightly]

โ€ฆHaving their first ever geopolitical thought.

[CUT TO a BBC news scene. The BBC newsreader CLIVE MYRIE is talking to an interviewee next to the screen showing the social media influencerโ€™s face. The intervieweeโ€™s name is David Jones].

CLIVE MYRIE:

To explain the significance of this moment weโ€™re joined by David Jones, our Expat Thoughts correspondent

DAVID JONES:

Clive, this is momentous

It was caught on film at the end of an Instagram post titled: โ€˜Dubai Is Brilliantโ€™.

[Pointing at the screen, the influencerโ€™s expression still the same]

You can clearly see in the eyebrows here, the dawning realisation that there *might* be something in the world beyond his dickhead self.

It marks a *huge* departure from all the Dubai Expatโ€™s previous thoughts.

CLIVE MYRIE:

Which areโ€ฆ?

DAVID JONES:

You've Got To Get Yourself Out Here Mate, Everything Is So Clean, I Don't Have To Pay Taxes,
I Am Incurious As To Why I Do Not Have To Pay Taxes, and Spa.

CLIVE MYRIE:

And might we see an expansion of these new Thoughts in coming days?

DAVID JONES:

I think we can expect to see:

โ€œI Deserve To Be Airlifted By A Country I Pay No Tax Toโ€

CLIVE MYRIE:

Mmm.

I get asked to show up to book clubs, online and offline. Here is why from now on the answer is always "no." If you think this might have something to do with "AI" ruining yet another thing for everyone, you're absolutely 100% correct.

I think that if you were to try and fix this, your software project would also become more expensive as now things need more versions, changes, research and people. So a company who did it right would not be financially competitive. (With a few exceptions). Also it is hard work.
