First page of my comic "Nova". It opens with a top view of Scar and Scorch's cabin, where we see lots of details about their projects, painting and mechanics tools. On the desk, there is blueprints for a mobile featuring Aurelion Sol among little stars, as well as a sewing pattern for a bat plush. We can see Scar's hoverboard laid there too, probably needing some fixing. A "Fuck Piltover" vinyl can be seen in their shelf, as well as candles on a skull we can see in Benzo's shop in Arcane. Scorch is making the rounds, worrily carrying their hand to their chin, as Scar comes in asking: "Scorch, where-" his question is cut by a distressed Scorch flipping towards him. "I don't KNOW Scar. Storm was with her!" They look to the side as they continue. "I went out to play with the kids... And when I came back to grab some pencils, they both were gone!" Scar stops and raises his hand to his chest in reflexion. "I don't like this..."

A while later, Scorch got back to work. We see them draw with a wooden pencil, which tip is carved in the shape of a small bat. They turn towards the source of sobbing sounds that can be heard near the entry of their home. "Seren! Where have you been?" Scar asks as he rushes to her to support her weight. She is fully pregnant, her right hand on her belly as she puts her weight on Scar's shoulder. She looks pained, has tears in her eyes, and... purple veins all over her body. Her eyes turned purple. Scorch gets close to her, trying to comfort her as they're used to, bringing their hand to her face gently. "Hey..." Before finishing their sentence, Seren violently slaps their hand, her usual softness gone. She stares at them in crispation, her purple eyes glowing as she instinctly shows her teeth. Suddenly, she softens and her gaze turns to terror. "I'm sorry, it's... I-it's Storm... He..." She stutters. "Leave me alone." She concludes, as she almost teleports in her room in a purple dash.

Cut to a few days later - Seren is giving birth. Holding on to a sort of hammock to keep a crouched position. Scar sits on a stool behind her, assuring her posture and helping her in her labour. Her explanation of the context is written in a frame: "You know I have been very ill. It was getting worse. Storm and I visited a doc who told us the baby and I were gonna die if we did nothing." The focus switches on Scorch, seen from Scar's perspective. They sit in front of Seren, having their hands ready to welcome Nova. Their look is worried, ears down. "This doc told us about some sort of treatment." Back to a few days before. Seren managed to calm down to explain everything to Scar. We see Scar looking down as he mumbles. "Shimmer..." Seren, hair tied, looks to the side in guilt. Back to the birth, Seren now brings a shimmer vial to her mouth. A frame tells her answer: "It was the only way." She screams in pain as her shimmered veins glow stronger.

A week later, Nova already grew a bit of hair. She peacefully rests on Seren's naked chest. Even in her sleep, Seren looks pained. Next we see her breastfeeding, holding her baby very carefully. However, her expression is still very tense - something is off. "I can't take care of her." she seems to say. As she puts Nova to sleep with her bat plush, gently stroking her cheek, her monologue continues. "I feel it's calling me." The Aurelion Sol starry mobile hangs above Nova's bed. Seren's teary eyes look at her with lots of tenderness and sorrow. "The violence. It asks for more". Seren is alone in the dark, hair untied, holding her head nervously. A purple glowy spectre of her shouts as she violently flips to the side, face up, drooling and crying. Her message is revealed to be written on a letter, in cursive writings on a yellow paper. "Please take care of her." Next we see her at the door at night. She took a cape and untied her hair to hide her face more easily, and lays her hand on the door frame. She mournfully glances back inside to see her baby one last time. "You two could take care of me, of Storm, Sly and Sasha. I trust you with her life." Leaving the lair, insect firelights dance one last time for her in a cloud of green trails, reflecting in the mist. "I love you." are the last words written on that letter she left to Scar and Scorch.
