The Petit Palais was conceived by Charles Girault and completed in 1900. The central entrance is crowned with a dome fronted with ascending archivolts. It faces the Grand Palais.
The Grand Palais opened in 1900. This Beaux-Arts masterpiece houses Paris Photo within its 147 ft. glass arches and 775,000 square feet. From inside one can look across Av. Winston Churchill to the Petit Palais. Every November one can attend Paris Photo here, and take in the best photos the art world has to offer in a space large enough to fly a blimp in.
