If you work for a company that has clients come in for meetings, make sure HR considers that this doesn't just impact employees, but also visitors to the office. If you're trying to win business, when that prospect comes to the office and one of them is trans, do you want to forcibly out them?

And cis people, even if you don't currently have (or don't think you have) trans employees, also start having those conversations at work. Get your women's networks on side, reach out to the LGBTQ+ network leads to show support, ask your HR to instigate gender neutral bathrooms as standard

Make sure that your employers know that whether or not you're cis or trans is privileged and confidential information that they're not permitted to share, that your colleagues have no right to share, and that even stating that they have trans employees could be sufficient to effectively out you

So trans men can go where?!?

It sounds simple enough but a lot of people seem to want to hedge. They'll say it's complicated. They'll say there needs to be nuance.

But we're just a type of person, there's nothing wrong with us, and we deserve equality in all aspects of life. End of discussion.

One of the few things I'm absolutely sure of is that there's nothing wrong with being trans. We're just a type of person. We deserve equality because all people deserve equality.

Willem was born with male and female organs and was raised as a girl called Elvire. They started to transition in 1936.

Joking aside, I’ve been to some of the hardest places on earth and seen immense suffering, and I believe we are closer to a beautiful life than many of us think. One thing I see consistently, even amidst war and death, is people taking care of each other without expecting anything in return.
