Don’t you just love when someone quotes someone else’s theology as though they believe it but continue to miss the ESSENTIAL POINT? That is the book I’m rage reading.

I thought I’d dnf but at this point, I’m so curious as to how it’ll end that I continue.

It reminds me of a professor I had in 2007 who said, “the most theologically dangerous place is Christian nonfiction.”

This author I was attempting to read doesn’t even understand the Wesleyan Quadrilateral (he makes it a line & calls it “ancient” - It’s a response to the Enlightenment. Many of his views are actually new comparatively and his basic understanding of anything outside his circle is nominal at best.

One thing I’ve learned in my years of academics is to truly write a good rebuttal, you have to understand the opposition in a way that they agree with your views of them.

Currently reading non-white cis fantasy, and i'm not mad about it. One is African, one is Pre-Columbian americas. Both have me 1000% entranced.

I also have a cozy fantasy or two I'm reading. Listen. one book at a time is for noobs.

We've reached the time of year when i'm stoked I don't have to stay at my desk. It was awesome while I was in school! but now I'm not. The desk is boring. My audiobooks aren't working. I need to figure something out for days I'm not pulled for more fun things LOL

ok, so i know it looks bleak out there, especially in the US, but remember to find light and add yours to it when you can. We cannot let our light go out. We *will* overcome.

It's not gonna be easy. It might be like lighting damp wood with no kindling, but we have to try, ok? I care about you.

i bought the pattern but don't have yarn yet but i'm looking forward to adding that to my "i'm bored at my desk" queue

So now begins the process of listening to other audiobooks to see which catches my earballs first. 🤣

I started listening to Kill the Farm Boy and now I want to actually use my eyeballs to read it.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s hilarious! And the narrator is pretty close to perfect… But I wonder how much I’m missing by not seeing the words. I need subtitles for this audiobook. #booksky

I have plenty of eyeball books so it's not like I'm not still reading, but WTMH is not as high on that priority list.

I realized why I can't get in to When The Moon Hatched on audio...

it's the narrator. I realized this when I connected it to another book i've listened too that I still powered through because I was invested, but i'm not there with this book yet. So on to find another earball book!

Somehow I’ve finished 10 books already. 90% of them were audio 🤣

Currently listening to The Martian. Wil Wheaton is an awesome narrator for it. Also I’m listening at more than double speed, so 10+ hours becomes 5+ hours 🤣

Finishing 2 books in one day? Am I crazy? Nah. Just disassociating from social media.

Me: I’ll do a goal of 55. Sounds like a challenge.
Also me: I wonder if I’ll beat this goal by July, especially when I’m at 8 completed books already 🙄🤣

That is absolutely accurate. I have a cozy Japanese fantasy that I just can’t get into but it’s exactly my kind of read! Yes I want to discover the long lost recipe of your grandmother! But my brain cannot get interested in it 😭

I looked and looked on my tbr for a book with numbers in the title for my libraries winter reading challenge. The only one there was the one I had pushed pause on. I decided to pick it up again. It’s a struggle for this fiction reader to read nonfiction 😅

I reread one in ‘25 that left me with a hangover in ‘24 and it was great to revisit! I’m likely to revisit others later when I’ve had a chance to recover.

I just keep reading until the dopamine hits. Sometimes it’s a slog. Sometimes I find another book that grabs me and the hangover just grows when I finish that one 🤣 that happened last summer after I read two great books right after another.

Book hangovers are so dumb. Like yes, that was an amazing read, but my tbr is still a million miles long! 😭 I have more books I want to read, but the hit just isn’t there. 😢

That’s twice this year I’ve had the book hangover. It sucks. Ok back to finding the right book to bring me back. #booksky 📚💙
