Hi Beth! Yes, the idea of 'norms' is definitely one that the @royalsociety.org definition of RC describes but the duality of feeling 'in' and 'out' of it really hints at the fluidity of the term too!

Hi Sarah! Thank you for sharing and I can completely empathise - there is definitely a hierarchical nature to 'research' and something I often feel the need to prove membership of as someone on a non-academic (fixed-term!) contract...

SoTL as a community really embraces a lot of the tenets that @ucl.ac.uk's Natalie Marchant developed (cited in the blog) in relation to positive research cultures - collaboration, celebration, development!
