said it once and i'll say it again. we as a society do NOT need ai generated images or ai chatbots to engage with our faves. if you're down bad enough for a character they will start beaming dialogue directly into your head and you will be able to hear it in their voice

sure if the project didn't break even and no one got stuff out of it, that would suck. but that's still infinitely better than charging them above production price(!!?) for a product that couldn't exist without their work.

at this point i think they've proven that they don't actually have experience. i can respect that everyone has to start somewhere. it's simply unacceptable that it's at the cost of the contributors who dedicated their efforts to the project.

and this is patently untrue because the contributors already HAVE had to pay money out of pocket (see the bg3tarot kickstarter)

no one is arguing about the prod team being compensated for their labor. anyone who's modded a zine can tell you it's a lot of—sometimes thankless—work. the joy is in creating a project by/for the community & expressing love and passion for the work. it should NEVER come at the contributors' expense

as the team with, allegedly, the experience and transferrable skills, THEY should know better. so either they're disrespecting their artists because they do not, in fact, know better, or it's intentional exploitation. 😒
