I didnt know this cute detail, in my language (Italian 🇮🇹) most of the villagers and NPCs have complete different names just for give you some silly examples:
Ankha ➡️ Cleo
Isabelle ➡️ Fuffi
Audie ➡️ Lupilia
Megan ➡️ Dolcinia

Giraffes are quite underrated critters Animal Crossing but like Pokemons i think every villagers is the favorite of someone, me for example i have as one of my favorite Camberra who is seen by many as a ungly one 🧡🐨
