Black Resistance to Quaker Enslavement A moral reckoning.

For too long, the story of Quaker abolition has been told as one of conscience, but it was Black resistance that forced the Religious Society of Friends to confront its deepest contradictions.

I understand some suffragettes killed at least 4 people through arson and bomb attacks whereas Palestine Action are an entirely nonviolent group.

The key dividing line in politics right now is empathy vs sociopathy. The right has been waging an aggressive war on empathy ("virtue signalling", "woke") and too many outside of the right have been stupid enough to go along with it.

The Serial podcast in retrospect was shockingly irresponsible journalism. It brought attention to the case but its portrayal was way off the mark.

I think this is likely to change soon when people realise that many EU citizens won’t have any of the documents listed. I don’t know why they don’t accept Public Service Card. I will write to the Minister of Justice about this. You could get an Age Card from the Garda.

It will be interesting to see what happens to an EU citizen presenting an EU passport/identity card together with a utility bill/bank statement as proof of address in Ireland.

I was looking at the guidance for Irish residents claiming an exemption (within CTA) and the list of documents accepted is very narrow. An EU citizen living and working in Ireland may very well have none of the documents listed. For instance, an Irish Public Service Card is not on the list.

Government considering 'all options' on trees and proximity to power lines in wake of storm Éowyn As of this afternoon, around 12,000 premises remain without power following the storm.

‘Remove trees that are within approximately 30 metres of roads, power lines or communication lines’?!?!

There are barely any trees left in Ireland as is.

What an absolute bonkers suggestion.
