I realized something... I don't need this computer so I can experiment. Hear me out: what if Wine, but as a desktop environment. I did some testing in a vm already but I want to see what real hardware brings.

Unfortunately it broke. Idk what it is but openSUSE Tumbleweed seems to hate me. After upgrading, it would boot to a black screen. I did a little troubleshooting, including the nvidia-drm.modeset=1 thing, but that didn't work. The computer is now running Linux Mint since it's never let me down.

I couldnt see mine. Discord said my settings prevented it? Idk.

I think something's wrong with my Linux distro...

There are ones I have some level of trust in because of their actions, but it wouldn't surprise me for them to change their behavior on a whim. But even then, it's only barely. Maybe I'm naive or biased to have any trust at all in said companies.

I dont "NETWORK", I do not "keep a consistent schedule", I don't try to make my art "stand out" on people's feeds. I POST MY ART. And if it flops, I DON'T CARE.

I selected openSUSE Tumbleweed since it has tools to ensure the system can be recovered, so I'm hoping that they will keep the computer working. But, the compter doesnt have anything important on it so if something goes wrong, its not a big loss.

I was talking about Fedora Linux. They have up to date software but depricate a release after ~1 year. Other distros have longer support but lack the latest software.

I installed openSUSE Tumbleweed on an older computer with no issues! I wont be able tp update it while at college so hopefully it works well long-term. It at least wont need to upgrade to a new release every ~6 months.
