i did quite want to draw my mistria mc and my (stupid) scarlethollow mc (not together just in general) a bit more while im thinking about these games but im actually so exhausted rn ill have to do it another time. i hope it does not escape me then

maybe im just at different points mentally and how i approach the game changes between the times it's presented to me........ maybe it's that it's still a wip so some edges are rougher than others. idk im not passing hard judgement just yet ill revisit when 1.0 drops and see how i feel then too

i guess my mixed feelings about this game stem from the fact that i think it does what it sets out to very well and it understands the games it's drawing from much better than many of its contemporaries, but i wish what it was setting out to do was like, slightly different

but now i feel better in control of my map and want to tidy things up while i finish the mines so that when i come back to the game on 1.0 im not super lost like how i left my save last time.

i wonder if it's because im at the automation stage. i guess the loop technically has changed a bit....... there was a bit of a slump between the very early progression where everything's new and now where everything's streamlined where i felt very crisply that i was doing nothing-tasks

it's really weird because the updates dont drastically change anything about the core gameplay loop but i go back and forth between liking it and thinking "wow i wish they did all of this differently" like every other patch. im at a happy point right now

also have been playing the newest mistria update basically for the past 1.5days straight. i have a very hot/cold relationship with this game though ultimately. i do like it

anyway all of that to say im excited for the final chapters and i hope it sticks the landing... a lot of things revealed this chapter you could have roughly puzzled together from previous ones but i still got hit by some curveballs. which i enjoyed. I❤️MYSTERYGAMES

this kinda sounds like im saying the same thing twice but by "elements" i mean like the parts of the storyline that aren't really influenced by your decisions. like character dynamics, independent of you, mirror each other very often. even when A&B and C&D are separate they're connected thematically

but i really like how the story's coming together now. i think my favorite thing about this game is the convergence of all these separate elements into one storyline; the gameplay itself accentuates this by having you make a bunch of little decisions that collapse into larger ones down the line

rather than inundate myself with the game currently only to have to replay it again again later......

However they did judst add a balance patch which tweaks the pacing+other stuff. but i already reloaded all my saves from 4 years ago over thw weekend so i will likely wait for a later upcoming patch (like daniel or the ch3 save tweak) to really go back again and see how i feel about it then

i think my only complaint is how the pacing felt but also this was definitely (mostly) caused by the chapter's release being cleft in twain
