honestly there are quite a lot of games in the hm series that are not good and i would know because i played them . i find the 3D games are much harder to pull off because they go much slower than the top-down/2d ones... most of the wii games are not my favorite due to this

a lot of mistrias contemporaries do not offer the same dialogue exploration (from the few i have seen or checked out) or are only really drawing from SDV which is already derivative of HM. so i appreciate what it does in regards to being different i think it has a really solid base

like i played slime rancher during a really stressful and strange 2 week finals period in high school and i dont think id be able to replicate that setting/it was hard for me to just play the second entry straight because i didnt have that environment. i think this may be part of what i am missing

grahhhh this games haunting me its like i like it quite a lot its very polished it clearly draws from runefactory. i do like it. my criticisms are from my love. i would recommend this to i think my sister whom it would suit better. maybe im just not playing it at the right time in my life

it kinda is the type of game that i get the itch to make comics for if only to fill in the gaps sometimes. Also why the fuck does the gold watering can upgrade not make it super cheap to water stamina-qise im breaking the bank here

but to go back to the sidequests thing like. events that are akin to heart events but not as anticipated/predictably timed, and not just with the bachelor/ettes. i want to walk into the general store on a rainy day between 2 and 6 pm and get sent on a quest unprompted

it would detract from the sense of aimlessness i get sometimes since there's no real central main story quest it's just like. you get "msq" to rebuild things or open a seal in the mines but they feel disconnected and don't offer much intrigue on their own

i think something that could be improved on without having to fundamentally change anything would be building on their strengths of dialogue variety and adding more little random events/side quests the way rune factory does

it feels much more like the way new horizons feels next to other animal crossing games in that it's a dollhouse more than a management simulator. which would appeal to some more than it did i. though this comparison may not be apt because the big department this game does right is dialogue variety

this is also reflected in the gameplay where mechanics you can tell were lifted from other systems offer little complexities.. foraging spots are all fixed, recipes are all given to you, animals do not get sick or need to be milked or sheared or anything at all

my biggest critique that you would not be able to change without fundamentally altering the game is that it is too smoothed down; too defanged... there is no meaningful conflict, no toxicity, no hardship, no injuries, no conflict, no emotions other than a bland "happiness"

i say for me because it is likely a game that is made for the audience of Cozy Gamers but i am not a cozy games fan. i am a farming simulator fan. dont get it twisted i was born in here and you merely adapted to it

i keep playing mistria even though it misses the mark for me a tad... i feel as though i was too harsh on my judgement in the moment of the update earlier this year but there is something left to be desired. for me.
