His eyes stay on his sword as he says, “I think so.” His body flickers in and out and the smoke tugs away from his chest revealing tanned skin and puckered scar. The slice of light suddenly makes sense. It's a function of Zoro's corporeal body translated into shadow. Sanji expects the shadows to melt off of him entirely but even as soon as they tugged away, they fall back in place. Zoro swears. “Not good enough, I guess.” “Two more?” Sanji confirms as Zoro affixed Shusui to his waist. “Yeah,” Zoro grunts. He reaches up and tugs at the bandana covering his eyes. This time it peels off, revealing a head of tousled gray hair. Sanji has a feeling that's not It's natural color. Zoro's smile returns, smaller this time, as he scrubs his hand through it. His earrings swing as Sanji takes in the entirety of his face for the first time.

zoro: and anyway you don't "own" emo bangs so back off. sanji is looking quite pissed but trying to hold it together as he says, with each letter of the first word capitalized for emphasis," now while this may be true you have to admit that it's kind of like "my thing" at this point so. let's just say, it's giving "encroaching"

Zoro and Sanji sharing a quiet moment together alone in the aquarium The lights are off and the glow from the water is cast all around the room. Zoro lounges on the middle seat (that I don't think exists in this room, I can't say I fact checked the layout way back when I made this 😂) And Sanji sits in front of him, the smoke from his cigarette wafting in the air and he turns his head slightly towards Zoro.

Zoro and Sanji sitting beside each other after the events of Thriller Bark. Sanji placed his serving tray to the side to sit beside Zoro, both of them heavily bandaged. Neither of them look or acknowledge but their hands brush and fingers become intertwined to share a small silent moment between them. The loud boisterous energy of the party around them quiets to dull background noise as all they can think about is their nakama beside them, alive. Thank goodness
