I've talked about this before but ultimately the big story is that gaas funding decisions made 4+ years ago based on extremely low interest rates during peak covid when people trying were to put their money into stuff that seemed quarantine proof was just a recipe for back-to-back collapses

People like to act like it being put on last at the Game Awards killed the game, which if anything it gave it that momentary spike in players before plummeting 90% (to what it probably would've been if they just shadowdropped it)
