I never got anywhere near pre calc even in high school. I also failed algebra 1 at the age of 15 while these 13 year olds are apparently crushing it

It's crazy to me that there's panic because "math test scores are low" meanwhile there's 8th graders at my former (public) middle school taking Pre Calculus... when I went there it only went up to Algebra 1 and nobody was worried about our test scores apparently

I just wrote an essay on "Dubliners". Basing it on my experience would be "here's how Joyce's 1900s Dublin upbringing compares to my 2010s NJ upbringing"...stating my opinion would be like "I like the tone/settings and the stories and I think he was ballin'." You can't substitute one for another.

since apparently it matters, I do think that the University of Oklahoma girl deserved to fail her essay. She didn't write it properly, it was about how gender norms contribute to school bullying. "pull from your own experience" is different than "state your opinion", dumbass lol

It sucks that being a student with any kind of disability is a struggle. My middle school experience really crushed my self esteem. I wanted my teachers to acknowledge that I was doing my best, but they didn't believe me. It's been hard to recover from that even though I love school again now.
