Playing 5e - I make all new players roll this and lower aggrete scores get extra feats to make up...but reached the point where folks were keener on dud rolls and harvesting feasts...oops.

Oh agree, I think...I must have seen /something/ there in the past...but for the life of me I can't think what...
I went to IMAX and OMNIMAX cinemas aplenty many moons ago
Anyone for tennis? Yeah I know...just a local business..but looked sorta cute :)

05.03.2026 11:21 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I drive past the IMAX often and pondered ...have I actually been in there?? I forget...

Heh, the Fantasy Trip in abt 1982. Fantastic alternative to dnd!

I found this analysis of CoS interesting - I read the book but never got round to DMing it (though I have loved ravenloft thru the editions):

01.03.2026 12:24 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I recall when my kids were young they enjoyed weetbix sans sugar. Once my mother-in-law served them weetbix with sugar and I was like..."Nooooooooooooooooo! They will never return to sans sugar weetbix!!!! 😬"

01.03.2026 12:18 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Heh we all have our own journeys. I played solidly from 1978 to 1996 (basic --> AD&D -->2e...pretty seamlessly). Missed 3e entirely. Returned in 2008 to 4e. Hated it as overhomogenised and its loooooong combats (it would have been so much better with a digital platform tho). Flipped to PF then 5e

Tap water is nice in Sydney - our water is soft as Sydney is on acidic sandstone. Incidentally we call this a bubbler in Sydney..but no other states in Oz use the term.

02.01.2026 07:23 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Also, regarding alignment - before the FF came out, they were not big on NE, NG, CN and LN as monster alignments. My impression of alot of monsters before this was that chaotic evil was like evil by default (i.e. unles a critter was specifically Lawful Evil it was chaotic evil). I don't base /2
02.01.2026 07:22 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0Okay so regarding beholders and alienness - 1e and 2e did not have monster classifications like "outsider" and "aberration" so I think the alienness was developed more after these categories came about and the writers starting thinking about what this meant. Tho obvs spelljammer I think initiated it
