Remember James Byrd Jr? That happened in my home state of Texas only 27 years ago. I REMEMBER that. This isn't the distant past. One of the murderers is only 50 right now and will be eligible for parole at 68. His peers and sympathisers are still young and active within communities and work forces.

And there is a not insignificant number of people who are not only happy to, but actively trying to go back to that era right now.

Mind-blowing fact that put historical timelines into even more perspective for me: My own father and Emmett Till were alive at the same time. That's how fucking recent that shit was. That child very well could have still been alive today. This is history still within living memory for many.

Genuinely in so much fucking pain and feel so sick. Im so sick of epilepsy. The loss of control over my own body and what I am capable of doing is so degrading. It's such a roller coaster. Being strong and fully capable one day and bed bound in pain the next. 😮‍💨 I'll be ok though. Always am.

Thinking I might even go on a 24 hour SKZ fast. I'll wait for this video to drop in an hour, consume it, fan girl for a lil bit, all that, then check out for a while. Watch some palaeontology documentaries and draw eyeballs or something.

Let's just have more empathy for everyone. INCLUDING children. We're all just dumb animals trying to survive out here. Just be kind. It's really that simple.

You'd freak the fuck out too. Imagine the person who is supposed to love and support you unconditionally telling you that your problem is stupid and your pain is unjustified so you better shut the fuck up. That's gonna leave damage on a little developing brain.

Look at it through their eyes. Acknowledge their pain. Let them know their feelings are valid and that you're right there with them. Offer empathy not judgment. Imagine yourself losing something that you absolutely treasure. Imagine if you lacked life experience and ability to regulate your emotions

Like, yes, as a Mom, I understand that sometimes our kids have a meltdown over the funniest shit. But in that moment, they are in PAIN. They are distraught. To you, it's a dumb cheap teddy they lost. To them, in their whole 3 years of life, it's the most soul destroying tragedy they've ever felt.

Children are an oppressed group. They are constantly disrespected, mocked, degraded, ignored, and disregarded. I have firmly believed this since 2008 and will until the day I die.

Fuck man. Fuck. How can people be so mean to little kids? There's a little toddler sitting on the ground outside crying her eyes out as a grown woman (assuming Mom) is aggressively shouting at her "stay away from me you evil fucking brat". Fuuuccckkk I am on the verge of tears. Fuuucckkk.
