I don't think she'll be able to deliver the budget (26 Nov)- I reckon she'll be gone by end of next week.

Two ministers have resigned for similar, but lesser offences. She's done.

Tomorrow Nigel Farage is proposing a bill to take the UK out of the ECHR. Not content with messing up our future with Brexit, he’s at it again.

Don’t let him get away with it. Ask your MP to join us in @labour4europe.bsky.social saying not this time Nigel.

If racism has no place in his party, then Nigel Farage should prove it by withdrawing the whip from Sarah Pochin immediately.

Given the party's refusal to act on Pochin's brazen racism, it should be as socially unacceptable to vote for Reform as it was in the early 2000s to vote for the BNP.

And we should be prepared to say this to people's faces.

Yes they get a chocolate or biscuit (depending on the week) for showing me, but if they didn't have something to be proud of they wouldn't and couldn't.

And kids who might have left their book in the classroom get annoyed and say 'Aw miss, low it I did really good work today in history'.

I know it's only a proxy, but kids caring about the work they do in their books (+ how 'much' work they have) does matter.

On Proud Fridays™️, KS4 kids come up to me to show me their exercise books and say 'Im proud of this because I struggled with this last year, but now I have alot of green ticks'

If you use a historical lens, different political climates in England could certainly have influenced the different. A more formalist approach is that Shakespeare is a more seasoned writer of tragedy by Macbeth - Macbeth is his perfect Greek tragedy.

Don’t give these people benefit of the doubt. This racist rant isn’t an accident. Or ‘speaking out of turn’.

It’s designed to fill our airwaves with people debating ‘if’ non white skin is a problem. Not Reform.

Diversity isn’t the issue, hatred is. Don’t indulge it, vote for it or tolerate it.

In April 1968, Enoch Powell gave his infamous and racially inflammatory “rivers of blood” speech, with which, polls showed, an unnervingly large chunk of the British electorate agreed. The next day, the Tory leader Ted Heath sacked him. The Times had described the speech as “evil”; multiple shadow cabinet ministers had told Heath that if Powell didn’t go, they would.

It is hard to have faith a similar speech would receive the same response today. The rhetorical temperature concerning immigration, hardly cool to begin with, has recently been hitting new highs, and few prominent figures on the right have felt moved to speak out. Tory leader Kemi Badenoch did see fit to condemn pro-Palestine marches: she did not do the same with the largest far-right street protest in history. She did, however, suggest that anti-asylum protests like the one in Epping could be dealt with if we took steps to rehome asylum seekers in camps.

Other ideas that once seemed extremist and verboten now seem, for the right, to be well inside the Pale. This week it was the turn of “rising star” Katie Lam,

I tweet: "people who see 50% of their monthly paycheck go to rent don't care if a candidate eats with their hands. they want to hear what your candidate is going to do about housing."

John Galt 2025 replies: "Move if the cost of living is too high."

who creates the lively art and music scenes if the rent is too high? who makes cultural life? who serves you food or washes your dishes? who creates the fancy little restaurants that draw you to urban living? affordable housing is at the heart of what makes city life worthwhile.

MAX WILKINSON QUOTE GRAPHIC

TEXT:Sarah Pochin’s so-called apology was nothing more than a shameless attempt to dodge responsibility for her own words.

Instead of showing a shred of remorse, she’s doubled down and tried to excuse the inexcusable.

Nigel Farage keeps insisting that racism has no place in his party.

Now is his chance to prove it - he must withdraw the whip or concede that Reform tolerates blatant racism.

Nigel Farage insists racism has no place in his party. But Sarah Pochin’s racist comments tell a different story.

He must withdraw the whip or admit that Reform tolerates blatant racism.

The British right is swimming in an open sewer We are drifting into territory that once would have seemed extreme

"Promises were made, and lives and families built upon them. How have we reached a place where wrecking those lives is even up for discussion?"

On Powell, Heath, Lam and the descent of the British right.

Two zeros is immoral. Why does your folder have 100 items? If not, why do you have 3 digits? Are you writing 012? For shame.

It's annoying, but you have to put a zero before the subtle digits eg 07, 08, 09, 10 and then it will work

This was always going to be the direction given how little illegal immigration there is. This is going to do us all damage for years to come.
