When I was 10, one of my teachers was a devout Catholic and laughed at ancients worshipping the sun. Made perfect sense to me, though. Then my Nana O'B, had a chat about old ways and things. Lots of chats.

Next week I'll be teaching my (adult) son to shoot with a recurve bow. In the UK, hunting with bows is illegal, but bows are not (yet) proscribed as offensive weapons. It's also not illegal to own broadheads, just to use them. Gotta get the boy ready for any Zombie apocalypse!

Allowing British bases to be used in an illegal war of aggression is a catastrophic and historic mistake.
Britain has been dragged into another war because our Prime Minister would rather appease Donald Trump than stand up for international law.

The US constitution sets it as a secular country. Yet xtian fundamentals say the opposite. The UK is technically a CofE country but we generally cba. We worship Ikea on Sunday.

The documentary I've just watched was fascinating. Lowry's voice, Ian Mackellen lip synching.

LS Lowry on BBC 2. Very much a son of Manchester, but we in Sunderland like to claim a bit of him. Spent a lot of time later in life at the Roker Hotel.

Imagine telling the world that you're liberating the women of Iran and one of the first things you do is blow up a school full of girls. Extraordinary.

Dear @lucympowell.bsky.social,
I have enjoyed our exchange of letters about which of our parties is best placed to stop Reform. Hannah Spencer MP and I trust that you agree that this question has now been resolved once and for all.
Thanks,
Zack Polanski

Such a different world. 1978, 14yr old. Walking down the street, air-rifle on my back. Local-local cop stops me "Mick, man! at least put a bloody cover on it!" And that was it. I made a bag from old jeans. Good enough.

Lashed out (for me) Β£60 on new Sennheiser headphones, after getting sick of jiggling the wire on my old ones. It seems the socket on my PC case is faulty. So nothing wrong with my decent AKG's, although I miss my original wired Beats Studio. Best I ever had but have you seen the price of them now??

Super stressful month getting the new place sorted into a home. Raised some interesting declutter questions. Why do I still have 3 paddle-boards? And 5 wetsuits, only two of which still fit me and one of those gives me 20mins in the winter North Sea, which was never going to happen anyway π
