Also, turns out the "superintelligence" these people tried to create doesn't cure cancer, it regurgitates real peoples' work and spits it back at you with a lot less accuracy. It's not "artificial intelligence" so much as a giant error-ridden copyright scam.
26.03.2025 20:29 โ ๐ 41 ๐ 7 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 0You'll like this: The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council site was overwhelmed by complaints about CBC Cross Country Check Up it had to close the complaints site.
25.02.2025 17:46 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0God yes Ack indeed! I heard this yesterday, from a former C.A.F. member... "I don't like Trump, but he's better than the Democrats". I know a few Canadian Trump "allies". I have not heard any of them speak rationally about why.
Anyway, I won't be listening to the show ... the Scotties final is on!
Sorry Peter, I can't see that at all. It's not a both-sides discussion in that way. It's talking with friends on the other side about what they actually think. Will they help us? What can they do?
23.02.2025 17:20 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This discussion isn't about how to make it work in a way we could get behind. Or just let them take Alberta, or appeasement in any way. It's about what can we do to stop it? Who can we call on for help? How do we resist?
23.02.2025 17:18 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0So a very bad thing that has a non zero chance of happening should not be discussed by our national broadcaster and the public?
23.02.2025 17:09 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0as many western Canadians have seriously discussed why Cascadia could be a real thing, it seems to me having a friendly discussion on this topic is not the worst thing we could be doing. I really don't understand the anger.
23.02.2025 05:20 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0So this is a forum for people to state how insulting this is, with an American listening. So, don't phone in, don't listen. As I understand it (which consists of hearing the trailer) it's also about people saying some US states should be Canadian.
23.02.2025 05:19 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I don't understand the anger here. He's creating a forum for Canadians to call and let a prominent US host (I've never heard of him though, lol) know what about it annoys us. As there is a small but vocal minority who actually support this, why wouldn't we want to discuss it?

All the evidence is that the Canadian government actually did quite a good job weathering wild economic conditions, and the fact that critics can mostly only point to GDP per capita artificially deflated by a spike in temp. immigration numbers only reinforces that conclusion.
08.01.2025 16:19 โ ๐ 88 ๐ 28 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 1A big part of the answer here is the Internet. We've decided everyone gets to live in their own little reality. We've abandoned any sense of shared sources of news, facts, and truth. Conspiracy theories are no longer fringe. Truth is no longer valued. And I'm not sure anyone knows how to fix this.
17.12.2024 18:16 โ ๐ 70 ๐ 16 ๐ฌ 5 ๐ 3Because however morally questionable many American leaders have always been, the system tended not to skew towards electing the absolute dumbest people in the country to public office. Now being a know-nothing hateful idiot is the easiest path to power.
