Traffic has been getting worse one way or the other... If you don't "market" a lot on other social media, blogs sink into obscurity these days.
And I'm more than busy enough with just Bluesky π

Yes I really enjoyed the first!
I'm utterly rubbish at finishing series...
I'm just so "oh shiny new thing"
I absolutely plan to finish this though!
I also need to reread Ancillary Justice and then finish that at some point as well...
Now I need to catch up π

What do you mean February is already over? Alright, here's the Wrap Up then.
Favourites this month are hard, I'd say a tie between Hammerfall and Twelve Months, but I had many amazing books.

Book#24
Action hravy tournament chaos, friendships pushed to breaking, and a hero staring straight at his own darkness.
Progression fantasy in space that levels sideways and refuses easy answers. Brutal, hopeful, and impossible to look away from.

HEY ALL YOU LOVELY SFF BOOK PEOPLE
<3 Another review and this one is for my favorite in the #SPFBO contest so far in my batch.
It's also the highest score I've ever given anything from my original pile of books for the contest

The Tattling Whisperwoods by Tilly Wallace
Wandering Inn Book 8 Blood Of Liscor by Piratebea
Hi Womble, my current reads are The Tattling Whisperwoods, a cosy-ish historical fantasy with a female main character who goes her own way.
And book 8 of the Wandering Inn, which is my perfect bed time audio ok, as it's long enough to keep playing all night π
Black dog wearing a Dracula cake posing on a large tree stump
Black dog in a tree stump in a snowy forest, the setting sun between the trees behind him
Close up of a black dog lying on a couch, his head and paw in focus

I love this series! Though I needed a long break between books or they do feel.just a tad too similar.
But so much fun, and I love the characters!

Apparently I posted #23 before #22...
Royal visit, whispered conspiracies, & Grace once again stepping straight into trouble.
Cosy historical mystery with quiet strength, subtle rebellion, & a dance. Reliable, comforting & exactly the reset I needed.

In Germany we also definitely don't put vinegar on fries (the hot potatoes π) and yes, it is gross.
You can get salt and vinegar chips (the cold ones as snack) but it's not the commonly preferred taste.
I mean I love vinegar, but not on my poor potato π
Yea it's really pretty even! I just have no idea what I'm looking at.
And the reason why I can't leave the house without glasses or contacts π
Photo of a bookshelf in a bookshop with tables in front - regular photo
(part) of the same photo as I see it, so mostly colorful splotches,.octagon shaped, super bright in colour Pretty, but absolutely no idea what I'm looking at
Reminds me of when I tried to show people how bad my vision is.
It's not ideal, as I'm not good at Photoshop or such, so worked with lots of blurs and saturation, but this is as close as I could come with / without glasses π
POV: you REALLY want to join the donkeys.
Full body tremble. Maximum excitement. Engines at 99%.
But the butt remains planted.

#SPFBO is heating up. Several groups have been actively reviewing books, and now The Fantasy Hive as well as previously Fantasy Book Critic have already delivered their semi-finalists.
No news yet on Phoenix Rises, Dragon Soars. So keep crossing your fingers for me, or read while we wait.
@cw-snyder.com @queensbookasylum.bsky.social @ghostwoods.bsky.social @krystlematar.bsky.social pls send me your most unhinged screeds/art/prose/whatever for this zine. It pays no money, and basically no exposure. Fuck yeah.

Book#23
Magic academy, dragons, hidden risks, & a girl trying to hold everything together while the pressure quietly builds.
Quick, compelling setup with strong series potential. I wanted a bit more emotional depth, but Iβm very ready for the full novel.

Ha, you can have any mango that ever comes my way, for life π

*picky eater and *only thing / way it's eatable.
Mornings and autocorrect do not go together!
Ha, you can hand all of those off to me!
It's one of my favourites, and they are just more expensive than an arm and a leg π
Without a doubt that's mango!
I'm a very lucky eater overall, but I eat almost all fruit and veg.
But mango is just awful!
Only think where it's consumable is juice when it's passion fruit/Maracuja & mango
I mean meat is one thing, but *everything* has gotten so expensive here, especially fish veg and fruits.
A cucumber used to be 0,99 in an expensive shop just a few years ago, and was stable.
Now we're at 2 up to 2,50β¬
Yes, I really wish we had some letter allowance, and an edit button!
And I also enjoy both "let's blow up the whole planet" as much as I do Becky Chambers for example!
This one is really without any actual fiction really, no conflict, it should be boring. It's not though! I breezed through it in no time at all.
My only "problem" is that trading is so very opposite and if my interests / hobbies, and yet I still really enjoyed it!
