If you're wondering about the enormous lush comb, its name is "Peinetón." It was a very characteristic fashion in Buenos Aires and Montevideo between 1830-1838. It was a status symbol; the larger it was, the wealthier the woman. Were you referring to the comb in particular, the hairstyle, or both?

There seems to be no record of the name of this hairstyle, but it seems to have been very popular among upper-class women in Buenos Aires and Montevideo between 1828 and 1838. Similar hairstyles can also be seen in Spain and Germany in the 1830s.

Is it!, “bolsicona” is what seamstresses of mestizo origin were called in Quito, Ecuador, on the 19th century. They were known for wearing a long skirt called “bolsicon”, also wore a plush shawl, usually blue, an embroidered blouse, petticoats, long braids and sometimes they went barefoot.

Pancho Fierro (1807 - 1879) portrayed in several of his watercolors the immigrants of the Qing dynasty with their long biànzi(queue), who came to the Peruvian coast to work on the haciendas under contract. From their clothing, it can be assumed that those who appear in the watercolors are Cantonese.
