Also, my primary care doctor fucked up his search parameters for my therapist by searching up psychologists and psychiatrists rather than a marriage and family therapist which I had specifically told him that's what she is.

Okay, so, insurance shit finally got sorted. They were giving me and my therapist conflicting information. She is, in fact, in-network (we knew this) and I am able to continue seeing her regularly with no issues.

So basically, they just wasted our time and stressed us the fuck out for nothing.

If I want the coverage I want to help shave the cost of my copay for my providers down to $15 and lower costs for other services then I have to pay $600. Each year they keep raising the cost for my health insurance. It was once half the amount. Even then that's expensive. It's only HMO and not PPO.

I almost never post here because I have nothing to say. I guess now my severely depressed and traumatized ass is gonna have raw dog life without therapy for a while despite paying $600 per month for the sake of getting coverage for seeing my therapist and other doctors for my health issues. 👍🏻

Yeah, health insurance in America is absolutely shitty. That's why so many have been cheering on Luigi Mangione. I also have to pay $600 per month for my health insurance so that I can get the so-called coverage that I need.

This means I won't be able to see my therapist for sessions until at the earliest, mid March. This is fucking bullshit. Also, happy birthday to me on Jan 21st of being suddenly notified by my own therapist about these fuckass changes in policy from Blue Shield rather than being told by them.

The prior authorization from my pcp for my in-network therapist won't be submitted until early March. It could potentially be denied. I've been seeing my therapist since either late 2016 or early 2017 while having Blue Shield of California when Magellan Health managed behavioral health services.

Now, I can't see my pcp for the required in-office visit and physical exam until Feb 19th. I also have an upcoming surgical procedure with gyno where I need a physical and labs for blood work on Feb 23rd. Labs take a week for my pcp to get the results which will be around the beginning of March.

My therapist too, also contacted Blue Shield ahead of time to get information on these changes prior to Jan 1st for the sake of her clients and all they did was tell her she was in-network for them which meant there would be no changes.

I've contacted Blue Shield's customer service for info on what changes would be implemented with them managing behavioral health services before they kicked in on Jan 1st. They told me that I had nothing to worry about in terms of the providers I've been seeing and that it will remain the same.

My therapist received a letter on Jan 20th that I needed a prior auth to continue seeing her despite having gone to appointments on Jan 6th (insurance denied coverage) and 15th (insurance covered this session). Yet Blue Shield themselves never contacted me directly about this.

I fucking hate Blue Shield if California's bullshit changes for their management behavioral health. I have to see my primary care physician for an appointment and get a physical completed before my pcp can even submit a prior auth. for me to continue to see my therapist who is already in-network!

I hope The XX also comes out with new music since they're going to perform at Coachella.
