Got a big birthday coming in a few days, 50. I’ve always been able to make anything happen, but the last few years I’ve been less than focused and a bit adrift. Need to be intentional and get some focus on the next part of the journey.

Really glad that Friday has arrived… Hoping to have a quiet weekend.

Tired. And taking a day to rest. Hoping that the semester ends soon. Hope we get our dodger soon. And hope we can set sail for warmer waters before the new year.

Not sure how trying to transfer a prescription from our local Walgreens to the Walgreens Mailing service is so impossible, and then trying to have it sent to the Walgreens physically closest to us on our travels. Also fail. WTF is Walgreens a national pharmacy or not?

Found our way to a spot to tie up the boat for a couple of months to get some work done. New canvas, engine work, electrical, and other items. There is always something that the boat needs. Plus of course lots of job related things I need to catch up on.

If I can save in 2026 & 2027 at the rate of boat upgrade spending I did in 2024 & 2025 I’ll be able to add the electric engine fall of 2027.

Last winter I took the boat’s solar from 300 watts to 1,000 watts, and this winter I’m going to try and jump it to 1,800 watts. The goal is to have the solar in place to go 100% electric. (We’ll have a backup generator but the goal is not to need it).

Waiting for an engine bracket before we can leave. Hope it gets here in time and we can be somewhere else before this storm arrives.

Leaving in less than a week. Can’t wait to be sailing again. We’ve basically been stationary for over a year trying to give the kids an opportunity to work and save and move out on their own. Bit of a failure on that front.

Roller coaster of a summer. I’m ready to start moving south for the winter. Once my youngest is done for the summer we watch the weather and then set sail the moment the wind is right. Next stop Nantucket. In all these years of sailing I’ve never been and I’m excited to drop the hook and explore.

Today and Tomorrow will be our prep days for Erin in New England. Hoping for the best but planning on a closer than predicted pass.

Ugh Just learned that there is not a way to do a software update to my B&G v60b radio without a crazy expensive display

So glad it's Friday. Just one thing to do work wise today then I'm going to take the afternoon off. Just so tired. Think I might put in my ear buds and go for an epic audio book walk this afternoon to try and relax/destress.

Think I've figured out where we're going to spend the winter this year. Not exactly where I would like to, but one spot so one of the kids can take a class and hopefully get a professional license, and then another spot so the other kid can take a class and get a professional certification..

My son is working on a yacht that does day charters. Their first availible reservation date is June 15th.. So he’s got some time off.. I don’t know if he’ll make it till June 15th because I may throw him overboard. He’s so much easier to deal with when he’s working. #parenting #parenthood

Found our way to Provincetown Mass for the summer. Going to try to use the summer to establish healthy habits and start loosing weight. I need to turn the trend line in the right direction.

Counting the days till we leave this marina and head to the islands and the cape. So ready for summer.

I'm ready for winter to be done. Glad I was able to do this winter on the boat in Maine but I much prefer winters on the boat in much warmer climates. Another month and we'll move to our summer spot.

2:20pm and I’m ready to go to bed for the night. Cold and Dark.. I’m done with winter. Need to return to my “snowbird” ways once this winter is over.

Glad it’s starting to warm up. Brrr it’s cold. Glad I decided to prop open the cabinet door and put a fan there to blow warm air down below for the pipes.

I’m counting down the days to when I can untie the lines and leave the dock. With my oldest moving out next project is to help my youngest find his direction so he can do the same.

woke up to frozen pipes. Didn't think I'd have that happen ever again.. But staying the winter up north is important. Gotta give my oldest the extra time to hunt for an apartment of his own.

Got wrapped for the winter. Going to be much warmer.. Think I'm finally ready for the snow.

One more course to rewrite and I'll finally be done the program redesign for the university. While I love the program I'm growing tired of the project. That may be more of a result of the lack of sunlight this time of year though. #professorlife #academiclife #instructionaldesign

The lack of sunlight this time of year is starting to get to me. And since we ended up staying up north this winter the cold only adds to it. Ugh.

Solar finally upgraded. We moved from 300 watts to 1,000 watts. That should be enough to take care of us on the mooring next summer.

Next project is saving for new sails.
