As an aside, for some reason, shortly after we reached out for comment, Mace began angrily tweeting at The Post and Courier about how senators use the airport entrance where police say she went on an unhinged tirade.

What she was apparently mad about was that the cops didn't meet her at the curb to escort her to her flight; it appears that's because she turned up 20 minutes late in a different type and color of vehicle and possibly at a different location than what her people arranged with the police.

THIS needs to be a D advert in the states where SNAP is a life-saving program. Let recipients know that Johnson could end the shutdown by the time-honored practice of "politicking".

Oddly, Louisiana is one such state.

They like to use the words "truly needy" nonstop. So let's think this through. I would assume in their calculation there's only a handful of people in each state who are "truly needy". Let's talk about the companies that won't pay people a living wage, so they actually qualify for food stamps.

I was working two jobs, a single mom of three while going to community college. Getting food stamps was humbling and I felt a lot of shame but I also needed to feed my kids.

Does it register to MAGAs who voted for him that she’s referring to them? Tens of thousands of MAGAS, in red states, depend on food stamps and other government programs. How do they feel being called corrupt, lazy, told they only play video games etc.?

My husband and his sister survived their childhood due to food stamps, and government food like cheese blocks. His single mom worked multiple jobs to support them, yet they never had enough of what they needed. Republicans are choosing not to fund food assistance for political show. It is inhumane.

SNAP helped feed my great nephews after their mother abandoned them and they came to live with me. I could not have done it without that very small amount of help.

Food stamps kept me & my husband, both in graduate schools, fed for 6 months when his grant money fell through. We didn't want to ask parents - the social worker told us (we had taken our transcripts with us) she knew the US would get back in taxes what we were given, "in dire need". Meant so much!

Food stamps fed our Vice President too, but he thinks other children deserve to starve.
