MPs’ basic salary to rise to £110,000 by end of parliament, watchdog says
Ipsa cites rising abuse and constituency workloads as reasons for above-inflation increase of 5% from April
MPs’ basic salary to rise to £110,000 by end of parliament, watchdog says.
This should be accompanied by a total ban on second jobs, which in most cases is a corporate bribe. Must end all conflict of interests.
Being a MP is a full time job. MPs must act exclusively as MPs.

Honestly the collective national level of disdain for Brits living in Dubai on all my social media platforms today really is bringing the UK together as one in a way that's hard to achieve in the modern era.

It’s almost like the whole panic over migration that seems to grip some political parties is entirely manufactured…

How Much I Dislike the Daily Mail
I would rather
eat Quavers that are six weeks stale,
blow dry the man bun of Gareth Bale,
listen to the songs of Jimmy Nail,
than read one page of the Daily Mail.
If I was bored
in a waiting room in Perivale,
on a twelve-hour trip on Network Rail,
halfway through a circumnavigational sail,
I would not read the Daily Mail.
I would happily read
the autobiography of Dan Quayle,
1001 Things You Can Do With Kale,
selected scripts from Emmerdale,
if it meant I didn’t have to read the Daily Mail.
Far better to
stand outside in a storm of hail,
scratch a blackboard with a fingernail,
be swallowed by a humpback whale,
than have to read the Daily Mail.
If I was blind
and it was the only thing in Braille,
I still would not read the Daily Mail.
Brian Bilston
Today’s poem is called ‘How Much I Dislike the Daily Mail’.

As journalists working today many of us are taught to recognise disinformation when we see it and fight back against it.
Unfortunately there are some who willingly seek it out and put it on their front pages. A disgrace to the profession.

We saw her in Glasgow last week and she was honestly the best gig I have seen in years (and I've been lucky enough to see some crackers over the last couple of years)- can't remember seeing an audience so engaged with the artist. She didn't drop a note- loved every minute of it

I think people (columnists/reporters) have to stop declaiming that whatever Trump’s just done is the beginning of a new strategic phase. He’s just a man who unceasingly channel flicks through his own idiotic notions.

Screen shot from Paul Embery’s X account:
Respect to this police officer. Confronted by radicals demanding the arrest of a Christian preacher on the grounds that Whitechapel "is a Muslim area" she was calm and professional and
gave them short shrift. Let's see more of this from the police.
Has a video of a woman police officer talking to a group of Muslim men
This clip is all over the other place and has made its way onto GB News and Talk TV so I’ll do a bit of an explainer here too!
The clip doing the rounds is of a fantastic police officer telling a group of Muslim men that a Christian preacher nearby is entitled to freedom of expression.

The video from Nigel Farage gives the
impression that he was individually refused
access.
Farage is in the Maldives.
200 miles away from the Chagos Islands which are not a
tourist destination.
Hasn't got the paperwork and wasn't on the 'aid boat' he's pointing at which is trying to establish a settlement for four people on the islands.
How is this serving Clacton? Who paid?

Giving Braverman the education brief is quite a choice for Reform. I was on an education commission with her once before she went completely mad and she knew absolutely nothing at all.

Yes, we only have 8 MPs so we can’t have a Shadow Cabinet, but please remember that my supporters are far too thick to know about things like that.
