One of my favourite gigs last year was three bands for about a tenner. Problem is they’re invariably 18+ so rules out being able to take my lad. All the 14+ ones seem to be extortionate big bands.

They are. And now our lad is just about at gig-going age it becomes eye watering. B&S at the Albert Hall. Mid venue. Cost us about £350 for three of us to attend the two nights. Dreamt for years about taking him to lots of gigs without realising how financially disabling it would be. 😥

Super Furry’s, Belle & Sebastian and Beta Band / Flaming Lips announcing gigs all at the same time in October trashed my finances well and truly. Pretty sure I used to go to about three of those sized gigs a month about 20 years ago. (“Yeah, alright grandad”)

Who looks at the small print these days. Sigh.
