In 2020, my favorite childhood radio station shut down. I listened to its last night on air, on live stream. The final song before abruptly going dark and becoming a religious station? “Black Sabbath.”
It was jarring. It is what it feels like to lose tiktok. Media can be such a source of comfort.

Yep…and I don’t refer to men as “males” in casual conversation unless I am speaking about biology or science of some kind.

It reminds me of that hilarious line from Mrs Doubtfire: “I don’t work with the males because I used to be one.”

It sounds clinical and weird.

Because it is a word used by some men to dehumanize women and indicates we are not seen as their equal. (In my opinion)

How to make me immediately swipe left:

-guns or knives
-martial arts
-gym bro culture
-finance bro culture
-“fintech”
-labeling oneself as “apolitical” or “conservative”
-“females”
-not being “jabbed”
-“energy healer”
-ENM
-hunting photos
-motorcycles

The list keeps getting longer as I age…

Our bodies should really invent a new way to expel foreign viral invaders. This whole laying in bed being useless thing is really not my vibe.

Let’s all normalize the end of the year being a time to choose to rest and reflect rather than to speed up and hustle harder. We have all earned self care at this point of the year.

…except the billionaires. They don’t deserve to take a break.

The thing I am most excited about if I ever actually escape apartment living is not having to smell other people’s cooking smells, glade plugins, and cigarette smoke.

Sometimes, when I’m really missing her, I lay on the floor in the sunny spot where my chihuahua used to hang out just to feel close to her.

I get why she liked this spot so much.

One thing about me is that I’ll fight sweater and jacket weather until I can absolutely no longer do so.

That said: Southern California 49 degrees is such a different kind of cold than New England 49 degrees. Probably because we have no insulation on buildings here.

I want summer back!

One of my favorite writers is Tom Robbins.

Apparently the town he lives in threw him a celebration for his 93rd birthday and people came dressed as all of the quirky characters from his books and did a car parade. I love that so much.

…maybe it’s time for me to try some small town life again
