(with my original title) after the movie was released. How much $$ has the book made? The answer is ... more crickets. But that's how it goes sometimes. My editor was passionate about it, Scribners believed in the book, and it simply didn't hit. And I kept writing.

Hey, Sam. So. When the novel didn't make any splash upon publication, I knew I had to figure out my career path - because it was the best book I had written, or could write, and ... crickets. Except for movie people. 6 yrs later, the novel hit the NYT bestseller list in paperback...
