Our identities and pronouns are not an “illusion”, “ideology”
or child abuse.

It’s about respect. Trans & nonbinary people have existed even before US was founded from the times of Native Americans and before and throughout the world.

Prohibiting lifesaving medical care such as gender affirming care should be child abuse —not doctors and parents providing the care their trans kids needs and were prescribed to treat gender dysphoria.

Who’s abusing children is the US govt by depriving healthcare.

LGBTQ+ people and people living with HIV know too well what it's like to be targeted because of who we are, both in this country and around the world.

Many immigrants and refugees come to the United States to escape persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity or HIV status.

Now is the time to stand up for trans young people—against hate, misinformation & harmful laws.

Trans youth deserve respect, care & the freedom to live fully and authentically. We will keep fighting for a world where that’s possible.

To trans youth: You are perfect and loved exactly as you are.

Child abuse is ignoring decades worth of research that hostile environments increase the incidence of self-harm in children living with gender dysphoria AND THEN choosing to pass legislation that increases hostility towards them

No school or teacher would “secretly transition” any children. LGBTQ youth have the agency to define their pronouns and who they are. Their identities are not a “gender ideology” but their lives. Framing this as child abuse is wrong and inhumane. Abuse is forcing them to be someone they are not.

Imagine being the most powerful leader in the world and blame your country’s problem in the smallest and vulnerable trans community to incite hatred and distract from the high-level corruption, especially with distorted lies such as these. It’s sad and tragic. #Sotu #jointaddress

Several things threat safety in the US and none are undocumented immigrants.

One, mass shooters mostly tied to white supremacist and racist alt-right, neo-Nazis hate groups.

Two, manufacturing of GUNS in the US killing many ppl and children.

Three, racist policing and defunding social services.

Trump has bragged about sexually assaulting women and was found liable for sexual abuse.

Cis folks need to stop falling for the lie that he cares about protecting women and girls.

“Made in America” is heavily reliant on slave labor from prisons- it is no coincidence there is an uptick in criminalization at the same time there is a push for “Made in America.” They won’t create jobs- they will disappear communities

President Trump's executive orders surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion do NOTHING except reverse decades of civil rights progress and pose an existential threat to the organizations that advocate for the civil rights of marginalized people, and provide them shelter, services, and support.

I just feel that the “common sense revolution” would account for more than two genders as it is common sense that there are more than two genders amping humans throughout history

Transphobia gets a thunderous applause from the United States Congress where Trump used essentially a 1 in 1000 case to declare a problem that doesn’t exist with trans women in sports.

“There are only two genders: male and female.” 

Correction: Transgender people have always been here and will remain, no matter what an executive order may say. You cannot erase us.

The U.S. spends trillions of dollars in MANY things —mostly in military weapons, guns and wars abroad that end up killing lots of people.

Complaining about only projects of international humanitarian development to LGBTQ ppl and indigenous comm shows discriminatory agenda to diverse & BIPOC comms.

No one is illegal in stolen land.

It is not only inaccurate, but inhumane and dangerous rhetoric to refer to human beings seeking better living conditions.

There is nothing to celebrate so long as President Trump continues to abuse the power of his office to sow fear & hatred. We will not cheer for unprecedented, dangerous actions. We've been the last line of defense for equality for 50+ years, and we will continue to see President Trump in court.

There are not only two genders: male & female. The existence of nonbinary and trans people like me —like millions of us- are a living testament to that. It is not only ill-intended but inaccurate to what science and medicine have shown. We will continue to exist & defy these harmful, false policies

If we believe in free speech, then we shouldn’t be banning books, prohibiting talking about equity, diversity, inclusion and gender. The executive orders banning DEI and “gender ideology” are a direct attack to free speech.

No matter what it is said tonight, our communities are beautiful, strong and amazing. We are human beings that define our collective power and dignity by our radical, joyful existence, shared love, inherent value & our own will —not discriminatory or hateful policies. No laws can redefine who we are
