We were hoping to finally get the show released this year, but we were unprepared for the latest road block. We apologize to those who were looking forward to our show.

We at Daemon Detective: Skyla have some bad news. For circumstances beyond our control, we are halting production. We’re not able to continue at this time.

Does that mean our show is done for good? We’re hoping not. Maybe one day we can get off the ground, but we’re not in the position to right now

Sherlockian fiction podcast - "Demon Detective: Skyla" A modern day "Sherlock Holmes" mystery/horror audio drama!

I just realized we never had an update from our original (and sadly unsuccessful) Kickstarter from 2023. Two years of radio silence for our handful of backers from then was too long. Figured it’s time for some transparency.

We’ve been slowly making progress in recording our two part pilot! With any luck, we will have all of our dialogue (except for perhaps a few bit roles) done by the end of the month.

Welcome new followers! This is the official BlueSky for the upcoming audio drama series “Daemon Detective: Skyla.” We’re an upcoming fiction podcast chronicling the cases of a modern-day, female Sherlock Holmes (nickname”Skyla”). We are aiming for the two-part pilot to premiere in Spring 2025.

Slight rebranding for our show. We’re changing the spelling of “demon” to “daemon,” since we feel it better fits the story we’re telling. Apologies for any inconvenience!

I was looking forward to this!

The central villain of the show's true identity remains a mystery, but he has many aliases: "Mabuse," "the Immortal Count," "the Devil Gambler," and more. Mabuse will do anything to achieve his goals, even consorting with eldritch gods.

Skyla and Jack's neighbor, Dr. Eliza Strong is friendly, nurturing, and easy-going. She is the person closest to Jack besides Skyla. Maybe this is because they're both doctors, and she allows Jack to have sense of normalcy in his life.

Detective Garfield Lestrade may be the only police officer who willingly works with Skyla. This is because is Lestrade is exhausted. He needs her help to lighten up the workload, but also because he cannot trust his fellow officers. Lestrade is the only honest cop left in the city.

Mattie Turner would rather not deal with Skyla. However, her grandmother, Mrs. Hudson, asks her to assist in the girl's investigations. This has led to Mattie becoming the "begrudging third wheel" of these investigations. She may be prickly, but she has a soft spot for kids.

Dr. John "Jack" Watson: former army surgeon, soldier, and Skyla's only friend. He's very down-to-earth, which is surprising that he is able to put up with Skyla's eccentricities. The two have an older brother-younger sister kind of relationship.

Sherlock "Skyla" Holmes, our protagonist. She is one of the smartest people on the planet, but is also moody, eccentric, and anti-social. Just don't mention her height, she's very sensitive about that.
