The total compensation cost in 2024 for the @ITFglobalunion General Secretary was £309,000.

This represents an increase of 94% since 2014 – far outpacing the compensation of non-management employees.

And yes, all five shop stewards in scope of the restructure are still at risk of redundancy.

This is taken from the ITF's own financial returns.

Of course this is materially relevant, particularly when the number of senior management roles is not being impacted by the proposed cuts.

Today we were informed that @itfglobalunion.bsky.social management pay is "not material to the current restructuring" and that it is a "preoccupation of the union" – we beg to differ!

Total compensation for management increased by 47% from 2021 to 2024, double the rate for non-management.

At York University, CUPE 3903 members are no strangers to the harmful effects that restructuring and unfair bargaining practices can have on workers.

Global union staff are also alarmed by news of a "confidential" benchmarking report, which has been used to justify severe cuts at the ITF and apparently proposes to find efficiencies and economies of scale between our organisations.

That brings us to a total of 7 global unions. The international trade union movement has serious concerns about the situation at @itfglobalunion.bsky.social
