There were old settlements along Yaquina Bay as evidenced by isolated fruit trees. In the last week, this one has bloomed out. I am not sure of what type of fruit tree this is, but it is definitely a harbinger of spring.

An image of the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse from the back showing the "new" restrooms and the garden fence. The original water source was a cistern fed from water collected from the roof and when built it had no plumbing other than a hand pump to the cistern in the kitchen.
