A great compilation of stunts from a favorite film. Read about Howard Hall & bits about his prowess. Yarchive.net has mention of the film. An English archer asked Hall if he could help. Hall asked if the man could hit a pole ~75 yards away & he could. Hall shot an arrow that landed on the top. 1/2

A very strange film for many reasons - the cuts from silent to re-shot sound footage, the dubbing, tinting, Technicolor and often stilted dialogue. But I really enjoyed it and found some parts absolutely brilliant.

As a kid, watching this on telly one sunny afternoon, I and my friend would rush out to the garden with sticks and strings, pretending to be Robin Hood loosing (I didn't know that was the terminology back then!) arrows, which of course just sort of splatted to our feet once released.

No love for Errol Flynn? He was by all accounts a sleazebag, but those movies were cool, and the 1938 "Robin Hood" is awesome.
